Appointment of Director
The Directors of Prairie Downs Metals Limited (“Prairie” or “the Company”) are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gordon Barratt as a non-executive director of the Company.
Mt Barratt is an experienced corporate advisor to the resources industry. Mr Barratt is currently a director of Daddo Barratt Broking Pty Ltd and is currently a partner with the RBS Morgans Ltd Caloundra office.
The appointment of Mr Barratt follows the recent announcements of the appointment of Mr Dennis Wilkins as Company Secretary, the release of the Company’s updated resource statement, and the recently signed binding Heads of Agreement with Ivernia Ltd (TSX:IVW “Ivernia”). These initiatives, in particular the agreement with Ivernia, will lead to the rapid advancement of the Prairie Downs Base Metal Project as well as allowing the Company to focus on new opportunities.
As a result of these initiatives the Company has instigated a new management structure to most efficiently manage the ongoing activities of the Company’s existing assets and to assist in seeking new opportunities. Ivernia have committed to spend a minimum of $2 million over the next 12 months in exploration at the Project and will manage these exploration activities. Significant news flow is expected in the months to come as this exploration program gets underway.
As a consequence of Ivernia managing the Company’s exploration program the services of a full time Managing Director are no longer required and as such Mr John Welborn’s contract as Managing Director will be amended as from 6th August 2010. Mr Welborn will remain as a non-executive director of the Company and will assist in overseeing the agreement with Ivernia as well as working with the board in seeking new opportunities for the Company.
